Education is valued in Edmond and the city has made long term committments to develop its future workforce. There is a high value on continued eductation of its citizens. Approximately 48% of residents age 25 or older have college degrees.
The Edmond School District is the 5th largest school district in Oklahoma, based on student enrollment (over 18,000 students). Even though school enrollment has grown over 37% since 1990, the district expects to add 200 new students per year for the next several years. And new schools will be built to meet the growing demand.
